Are you looking to attract UAE students to study at your university?

Students want to hear directly from you and have a chance to ask questions. Our research shows that information directly from university representatives is one of the most important sources for students deciding on their preferred university. The diverse UK higher education landscape can be overwhelming for students, who often ask for university information ‘in one place’. Presenting clear information and being available to talk directly with students are more important than ever!

With this in mind, we’ve would like to introduce ‘Study UK UAE: Meet UK universities’ which offers in-depth engagement between students, school counsellors and universities through a live chat function, and one-to-one or group meetings (14-15 December 2021).

As a participating university, you will have a personal dashboard which will give you live access to data on students who express an interest in your institution and event analytics such as page visits, webinar bookings and meeting requests.

You will be in control of your own meeting calendar – no liaison required between you and us or the platform provider.

What do I gain by joining ‘Study UK UAE 2021?

  • Online presence as part of Study UK UAE: Your individually branded profile will allow you to share information about your university, courses, support packages, videos, brochures on your own branded page.
  • Online chat function during the event
  • Promotion via our online social media campaigns
  • Promotion via the British Council’s global Study UK website, with 5.2 million unique visitors from around the world in 2020-21 and nearly 40,000 leads to universities through our ‘Find a university’ tool
  • Receive all data of students who visit your university page or register an interest in your university and study programmes (subject to their consent)

Why is ‘Study UK UAE’ different from a virtual fair?

Simply converting from face-to-face to digital doesn’t work for students. Experience tells us that students prefer a range of communication channels. Some like to browse and listen; others prefer a quick text chat with an advisor; others might want the personal feel of a one-to-one meeting. Some prefer to explore their options alone, while others feel more comfortable alongside their parents, or as part of a small group meeting with a school counsellor.

Whatever their preferred method of engaging with you, we know that  students are information-hungry and prefer to hear from universities and official sources directly.

Our platform responds to this by providing university and general information in one place. Students and have space and time to consume that information in their own way. When they’re ready to reach out to you, you can give them the personal support they need.

In parallel, students can open a chat with universities. Unlike other platforms, chat is stored and you and your colleagues can see full conversations and respond in real time or when you are available.

Each student also has their own unique profile so they can monitor conversations, calendars, favourite subjects and universities, and filter and save the information they need.
